Black Headed Caiques are small (about 8 inches from head to tail) stocky birds from South America. Their beautiful colors and outgoing personalities make them very popular as pets. They love to be in the center of everything and thrive in an active household. They require lots of toys to play with to prevent boredom as well as daily hands-on attention from their people.
Black headed caiques are unique in that even when kept in pairs, they can still remain tame to their people.
Our caique babies are naturally weaned to a pellet based diet with the addition of fresh vegetables, fruit, cook and serve mixes, sprouts, a small amount of seed and our pellet based birdie bread. Our babies are played with and socialized every day to bring out their sweet personalities and natural curiosity.
All of our caiques are close banded, DNA sexed and come with a Certificate of DNA results (included in the price).
